For now, it’s only possible to save Reels from Instagram on mobile.

Follow these instructions to download your live Instagram Reels, or your unpublished drafts.
How to download your published Instagram Reels
Step 1: Tap on the Reel you want to download.

Step 3: Then, in the bottom toolbar, scroll along and tap the ‘Download’ icon. [symbol goes here]
Step 4: If you haven’t already, you’ll need to give Instagram permission to save photos and videos to your phone.
How to download your unpublished Instagram Reel drafts
Step 1: Go to your drafts.
Step 2: Select the draft you want to download.
Step 3: Tap ‘Next’.
Step 4: If needed, trim your video and tap ‘Next’. Otherwise, just tap ‘Next’.
Step 5: From the top menu, select the ‘Download’ icon. [symbol]
Step 6: To save the Reel, you’ll need to give Instagram permission to download photos and videos to your phone.
How to download Instagram Reels from other accounts
Follow these steps if you want to share content from other creators or businesses.
Step 1: Select the Reel you want to download.

Step 3: When the menu opens, go to the bottom toolbar and scroll along. Then tap the ‘Download’ icon. [symbol goes here]
Step 4: To download, you’ll need to give Instagram permission to save photos and videos to your phone.
5 things to consider when downloading Instagram Reels from other accounts
You are not able to download Instagram Reels from private accounts.
Some public accounts turn off the option for other people to download their Instagram Reels.
You cannot download other people’s Reels to use for commercial purposes.
Some Instagram Reels you download may contain copyrighted footage, symbols, audio and more.
Instagram automatically adds the creator’s username to the video file you download.
