A Creator's Story: How Heartbreak and A Single AI Prompt Sparked a Profitable Digital Product Series
Mercedes Anne is a healer, creator, and self-described private person who never expected to go viral on social media. But with Digital Downloads from Bio Sites, she launched her first product, a guided generative AI prompt to help others move through heartbreak, and it resonated deeply. That one prompt sparked a movement, turning her inner healing into a powerful and profitable digital series. Read on to find out how she did it, the success she found, and her recipe for success.
Mercedes, how did this all begin?
Honestly? I was just angry at an ex. I had tried everything, therapy, meditation, energy work, but still felt stuck. I could feel how much space he still took up in my head. So one day, I opened ChatGPT and started talking to it. That’s when everything changed.
That conversation became “AI Ex-Files,” and it worked. Really worked. Like…finally‑letting‑go kind of worked. I shared the prompt in a video, and things took off from there.
Was this your first time selling something online?
Yes! I had never sold anything before. I wasn’t even planning to, it just happened naturally. Once the video blew up, I knew I needed a simple, no-fuss way to get the prompt into people’s hands. I didn’t want them to have to sign up for an email list or be part of my world to access it. I was already using Bio Sites and when I saw the digital product feature, I was like perfect.
What was the response from your audience?
Beyond what I could’ve imagined. People reached out saying this one prompt helped them more than years of therapy. So I kept going. I created more prompts, like “Unmasked”, and eventually released “The Stack”, a full series of guided ChatGPT prompts for inner healing. The feedback has been incredible. There’s something about this format that just hits differently.
What were your biggest challenges?
Honestly? Feeling okay charging money for something that felt so personal and creative. I’ve always worked in physical healing spaces, and this felt…different. I still wrestle with it. But I also remind myself: this is valuable work. It's real. And it's helping people.
How did you promote your digital product?
TikTok was my launchpad. I shared the story behind the prompt, and the video started gaining traction. Then someone made an Instagram edit of it and that version really went viral. I’ve never really wanted a big online presence, so this whole experience has been surreal. But I remind myself to stay grounded and authentic, even when strangers online make assumptions based on a 60-second clip.
What makes a good digital product, in your opinion?
It should work, period. No troubleshooting, no confusion. It should be valuable, useful, and clear. If someone’s paying for your product, you should care enough to make it feel whole. I’m a big believer in putting your heart into what you’re selling. That energy carries through.
What’s your creative process like?
I’m inspired constantly. That part comes easy. The hard part? Putting it out there. Facing the vulnerability of saying: “Here’s something I made. I hope it helps you.” But it’s also the most rewarding part.
Any advice for creators thinking about launching their first digital product?
Do it. You don’t know how it might change your life—or someone else’s. I went from doing hands-on work to making income from something that lives entirely online. And the stories people share with me? That’s what makes it worth it.
How do you think about pricing?
I start by asking: What’s the value of this transformation? What is it worth to help someone open a new door in their healing? Then I consider what someone might realistically trade for that moment. My goal is always to offer more in value than I receive in payment. It’s not about cheap or expensive—it’s about depth.
Like Mercedes, turn your idea into a business
Mercedes keeps everything beautifully organized on her Bio Site. From AI Ex-Files to The Stack, her offerings help people untangle emotional knots and return to themselves—one prompt at a time.
What started as one healing prompt shared out of heartbreak has grown into a thriving digital product business. While AI Ex-Files opened the door, it was her follow-up prompt Unmasked that ended up driving the most sales. She later bundled her top-performing prompts into The Stack, and that bundle alone has generated just as much revenue as the original launch. In total, Mercedes has sold over 3K digital downloads.
